Sallyboylan,

TSH responds to FT4 and FT3 levels. When FT4 and/or FT3 are high TSH is low and vice versa. Neomercazole blocks production of thyroid hormones and because you were overmedicated FT4 and FT3 dropped too low and TSH rose to try to stimulate higher levels.

Is it just a matter of balancing things off now?

Sallyboylan,

Basically, yes. You will need blood tests every few weeks to check levels to avoid over and under medication.

Dont take this medicine for more than 16 to 18 months. If ur tsh still remains less than normal range after 18 months of treatment for hyperthyroidism jst straight away go for iodine therapy . It is much safer and much successful than surgery . I was the patient of hyperthyroidism too .
