Was wondering if any one has tried this to relieve symptoms and what they found?
Has anyone tried Vacuflex Reflexology? - Thyroid UK
Has anyone tried Vacuflex Reflexology?
This does not provide the basic nutrients you need for good health.
Therefore, I suggest you don't waste money on it, and invest more in nutrition.
A friend did reflexology, and reports that there is no logical reason for it to work. From an anatomical view point there are muscles, nerves, blood supplies, but no mystical mapping of the nervous system on hands and feet.
Hey Greenwall thanks for your reply. As I understand it vacflex/reflexology/acupuncture /massage etc does not provide any nutrients as nutrients are ingested. My question was more to ask if anyone found that it helped relieve some symptoms. I have full body aches - worse in the morning when I wake up or if I have been sitting/lying down for awhile and its literally starting to change my posture. At this stage I am looking for anything that can help ease that pain. R x
I have done all of my vit blood tests and am raising my vit levels, but as you know that takes time. I am looking for something to help while my body adapts to the supplements and hormones I am giving it. Apparently symptoms can lag 10 to 12 weeks behind being optimally medicated. What is the harm in considering it to help ease symptoms?
Hi. I hear that you just want to relieve aches and pains. Warm baths could help with that - provided one isn't so stiff that you can't get in / out. Although you could get a bath lift.
Massage is different and it can relieve muscle tension/spasms.
But reflexology, well have a browse:

Thanks Greenwall , I simple google search will show you 'studies' both for and against the benefits of reflexology. While I appreciate your stance on the matter, with all due respect, you are not speaking from a place of your own experience as you yourself stated. "A friend did reflexology, and reports that there is no logical reason for it to work". My question was put forward to anyone who had tried it and what their personal experiences were. R x
My daughter is a practising Reflexologist/Masseur, whatever the truth about such treatments, there is absolutely no doubt that even if it is the power of touch or emotional connection the benefits can be felt physically, emotionally and spiritually. I know nothing about vacuflex reflexology and cannot comment in this regard.
Years ago when babies were placed in Orphanages and touch was not regarded as important, just fed, cleaned and placed back in cots, it was found the death rate was fairly high, then times changed and touch was recognised as vital for survival. Even in this day and age loneliness, isolation, single living can result in loss of touch for many, therefore any remedy that involves a genuine caring touch must not be under-estimated in healing value. I fully appreciate nutrition is of vital importance but man cannot live by bread alone.
I tried ordinary reflexology about a month ago. It wasn't a relaxing experience, as I had expected, and I had a headache within 10 minutes. I was told to drink plenty of water afterwards and not to be surprised if I couldn't do anything for the rest of the evening. The points that were tender weren't the areas that map to the thyroid but were around stomach and intestine, which has an interesting overlap with the immune system. I don't really care whether it's based on quackery or scientific evidence, I've definitely felt better (apart from the temporary headache) and slept better and planning on going back.
