I've been reading about Moringa this morning and I'm just wondering if anyone has tried it? It's supposed to aid thyroid function, and as it's anti-inflammatory it's supposed to be good for Hashis but I'm always a little concerned when things claim to boost the immune system?
Has anyone tried Moringa?: I've been reading... - Thyroid UK
Has anyone tried Moringa?
I would be slightly wary of anything which is 'Possibly safe'!
webmd.com/vitamins-suppleme...
Only an extract:
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/106...
Also very wary of anything which claims to be able to 'cure' hypothyroidism.....

Not sure if this helps....
Sorry no one else replied, I suspect they have no personal experience...

I had a thyroidectomy few years ago and drink moringa leaf tea.
It really helps my immune system as it is a multi-nutrient plant.
The best natural sleep aid for me.
Just take care if you have very low blood pressure as moringa helps to reduce. blood pressure
I read that article too, am researching Moringa at the moment so glad you mentioned it.
It looks like from the ncbi article that they recommend it for hyper and not hypo thyroid. It showed an increase in T4 but a decrease in T3 at both dosages. So if I understand correctly, it skews the T4 to T3 conversion and hypos need more useable T3. I have Hashimoto's as well and I would be worried that it would make my hypo worse. Let me know if I am not interpreting this correctly.
Some stuff I read on the net said it regulated the Thyroid but I also like you read that it affects conversion. So disappointed...thought I had stumbled across a cure!
oh dear not what we had hoped and yet Akuawood finds it beneficial, so confused.
I would ditch it pettals. As for hair there was research on cockles some time ago which apparently promoted growth, worth a look into perhaps.
I've been drinking moringa in smoothies with fruits high in vitamin C (moringas has tons of iron so you need vitamin c in order for your body to absorb the iron)
It works for me! I don't have a tremendous amount of energy, but I've noticed my hair is not falling as it was before!
You would be better to take omega / codliver oil capsules will help your hair. Wouldn't take morninga for hyperthyroidism. I take turmeric with hypothyroidism with no bad effects. I had turmeric checked out in hospital. Supposed to be good for inflammation. I bought fruit and vegetable capsules and they affected my hypothyroidism so badly it took a long time to get it back to normal. Never take anything without checking first.
