Help with blood results ......

Hi all

I've recently had tsh tested at doctors (1.65) but still didn't feel well. Had private blood tests done. These are the results. Any thoughts? Really appreciate it as intend to go back to docs to confront him. I'm currently taking 100mcg levothyroxine and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 6 years ago.

TSH is a little high for someone taking Levothyroxine. FT4 and FT3 are below mid-range and could be higher.

The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status and for most this will be when TSH is 1.0 or lower with FT4 in the upper range. Ask your GP to increase dose which will raise FT4 and FT3 and lower TSH. Read Treatment Options in thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_... Thyroid peroxidase antibodies are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) which causes 90% of hypothyroidism in the UK, Europe, USA and Canada. 100% gluten-free diet may improve symptoms and reduce antibodies.

B12 377 is sub optimal. PA Society recommend 1,000 is optimal. Supplement 1,000mcg methylcobalamin and take a B Complex vitamin.

High folate isn't a problem unless B12 is deficient.
