I'm new here. Just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism 3 weeks ago. Am now on 100mcg Levothyroxine. Just wondering about pins and needles and some numbness in my left leg and arm. Will this pass? Or what?

Welcome to the forum, Jacintamoore,

You should be having a follow up thyroid test 6-8 weeks after starting Levothyroxine. If the pins and needles and numbness haven't improved by then ask your GP to test B12 and folate as the symptoms can be due to B12 deficiency.

Arrange your thyroid blood test early in the morning when TSH is highest and fast (water only) as TSH drops after eating and drinking. Take Levothyroxine after the blood draw.

I went to see an endocrinologist privately and he gave me a Vitamin B12 shot and they took more bloods and are repeating them in 4 weeks and then I return to him a week later. I do a lot of cycling and have not been doing as much as normal. I am worried that the numbness will get worse which might make the muscles weak. I have an event on Sunday so was hoping someone will tell me that this will settle down! Oh, I didn't know I have to wait to take the Levothyroxine until after the blood test. I know so little about this bloody disease! :(

You will need to give yourself time to adjust to that level of Thyroxine, yes you will get numbness and pins and needles in your extremities. If your symptoms persist then go back to your GP in a couple of weeks, you might need to be retested and your Thydroxide adjusted. A good source of advice is 'Thyroid UK', good luck and please try not to worry too much, I know it is a scary time when your first diagnosed.
