Well just had the telephone consultation with a young t**t GP regarding my TPOA antibodies results . It would seem I'm high 42.6 the range is 0.6 so he agreed I had Hashinotos !! Not that he would change anything coz I'm normal. I just about blew up NORMAL nooooooo I'm not normal I'm tired, overweight have high cholesterol 😑 He couldn't wait to get off the phone when I started questioning him. I also got my Vitamin D back its 97 the range is 50 whatever that means probabably I'm low ???? Maybe someone who knows a lot more than me can tell me 😭

Carriebaby,

High thyroid peroxidase antibodies are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. There is no cure or treatment for Hashimoto's but 100% gluten-free diet may improve symptoms and reduce antibodies.

Vitamin D 97 is excellent and you won't need to supplement D3 until October when ultraviolet level is low.

Hi. I have an ingling of an idea of what you're going through. My doc said my questions were "too indepth"..... sees no point in all these "extra" blood tests...

Vit D levels at 97 sound ok. If it is 50 or below it is deemed that you need top up.

A few years ago 50 was consider ok, but they moved the range upwards, so now 50 is the new low.....

My antibodies are >1000! But the doctor still told me it was nothing to worry about! πŸ€”

Divide your D3 result by 2.5 .....

The D3 result of 97 - was it nmol/L or ng/L - you didn't say. If it was the first then you need to divide your result by 2.5. The website I posted does have a converter :-)
