Just wanted to say a big thank you to all who replied to my post. Greygoose, in particular, I wrote you a long post just now but was interrupted by a call and can no longer find it. I'm really grateful to you all for taking the time to give such good advice.

Hi-Just read your earlier post by going to your profile.I was on thyroxine for 18 years.Laterly became more & more hypo.Raising T4 did not work.Ended up in a 2 year depression followed by 2 years chronically profoundly fatigued mentally & physically.Following much research & support on here,I lowered my T4 & added some T3.I now believe my adrenals had"crashed".& that if I had been in a fit state to take action earlier,I could have avoided 2011-2015 in such an incapacitated state.I decided to reduce my T4 slowly to zero as I had become so unwell by not taking action earlier.I had 8 months on T3 only.Palpitations seased.Ectopic beats ceased.I could go on!
I now realise my body had slowly become unable to convert T4 to T3,due to adrenal stress.I was now using Paul Robinson's T3-only protocol to heal my adrenals.
I also started taking the supplements advice on here very seriously. In particular iron(with C),D3,selenium zinc,folate,Bs-especially B12,magnesium.All in the most bio-available forms I could afford.
I stopped using soy.I upped my protein(used meat for a while)Dropped gluten.Started using LDN.
Now I am on 10mcgs T3 at 6am & 2 grains NDT at midnight.
My tinnitus & intermittent blurry vision started when my adrenals "crashed"I still have tinnitus & body temp mostly at 35.Everything else is hugely improved
Hi Naomi, thanks so much for your reply. I noticed we both have had Hypo for 18 years but you seem to have much more if a handle on it than I do. However, thanks to all the good people here, I'm beginning to understand it a bit better. The most frustrating part is that I try to do everything I should be doing but am still not getting anywhere. I do take the supplements B12, magnesium citrate and selenium, have a good diet that included pulses, legumes and tons of fish. Chicken maybe once a week. Of course I've heard of T3 but by all accounts, it's impossible to get from your doc, isn't it? Having said that, I live in central America and you don't need a script always....I wish the jumpy heart would go away which is the most scary thing. The depression and tinnitus I guess I'm going to live with - the tinnitus has increased in volume just this past year but, compared to some, I guess I'm fortunate. Thanks again for your help. It is very much valued.
Hear hear!!
