over the last few months my fingernails have become loose and then completely come off leaving the nail bed very sore and tender, it starts with a purple tenderness at the base were the half moon is ,I have had graves for three years but never had this problem until now and taking carbimazole my bloods seem to be okay so I wonder can this be due to my Raynauds or is it my thyroid causing the problem, the nails do grow back but it takes a long time   then the process starts again  any advice please

That sounds extremely painful and I'm surprised the doctors hasn't suggested you see someone who specialises in that type of 'injury' called Onychomadesis. There are several reason, one being overactive thyroid gland. I think maybe see your Consultant as they must have come across this before.
