dysphagia trouble swallowing food ..
Juls,
ENT will probably put a camera down your throat to see whether there is a blockage or inflamed oesophagus causing dysphagia. Treatment will depend on the outcome of the investigation.

I had dysphagia due to a large thyroid nodule compressing my trachea. Breathing and swallowing were fine once the nodule was removed.
Juls, I had the same diagnosis of dysphagia, and in the end it turned out that I didn't have a thyroid disorder after all. I have written a blog all about my swallowing difficulties, you could take the research to your appointment and see if the ENT has heard of the link before? Most physicians haven't which is why I created my website. I found that methyl B12 solved all of my issues, so for me, it was a quick and easy fix, I hope this info is useful and that your dysphagia can be similarly fixed, it feels so awful, but there are lots of possible causes. difficulty-swallowing.com/
Thanks for this info.. but i do have thyroid disorder and numerous nodules but i dont think this is the cause ..? also im have large bridging osteophtyes at the c5-6.. cervical so one or the other could be the cause.. i read your blog and will mention this b12.. like you my blood levels were normal range. i got an emergency appointment to see a ENT doc. my doc said all my lymph nodes were swollen so she was quite worried about this, and i do have silent reflux so maybe they can sort this out.. thanks again x
had barium meal.. results were transient hold of food going down..? seems its caused of what i thought large bridging osteophytes at the c5-6 .. so they said it didnt look worrisome hmm easy for them to say .thanks but i have the problem chocking not them. dear me life in the hands of doctors ... so now what.. i put up with this or do i still complain about it....? grrrrrrrrrrr not happy
