Do I take my Levo if I have a tummy bug?

Hi, I usually take my Levo At night, but today have come down with a bug. Will it be ok to take the Levo under these circumstances? I don't want to make it worse! Thanks!

VickyWhitlock, yes, continue taking Levothyroxine as usual but take any other medication 2 hours away from Levothyroxine.

you need your thyroid meds to live! Why would you stop them when you are ill? You need your thyroid working to keep you well.

I hardly think one day would make any difference and given that everything including water was causing me problems I just wanted to check to see what people thought.

If you are suffering the nausea that I experienced a while ago then you need to concentrate on that and I sympathise .....it's horrid !! I rang my GP and was told .....yes to stay on water ....just small sips at a time and try some lemonade to settle things down .He was right and it helped a lot.However,good advice too to keep taking your meds.Hope you recover soon.

In those circumstances I usually lay pretty still in bed after I e taken it in the hope that nothing happens either end! The longer it doesn't the more that will get into your system. I feel moving about encourages other things to happen. Hope you soon feel better
