Can anyone tell me what my report means. Serum C reactivate protien level 9mg / L its says abnomal but the doc says its fine. I have been suffering with this terrible burning pain in my back for months....the naproxen does do a great deal....any ideas?

C Reactive Protein is a blood marker for inflammation. It is non-specific in that having a raised level doesn't tell you where the inflammation is occurring or why.
Even without a reference range I can tell that yours is high. There is no way to tell whether the high value is caused by your back problems or not. A common source of inflammation in thyroid patients is gut problems e.g. caused by a gluten intolerance, an allergy, a reaction to naproxen, ...

It's higher than usual range, but not by that much. It can go into the hundreds in acute illness. A reading of 9 is nothing to get too overly worried about but it may be an idea to get it rechecked in a couple of months to check on it.

My private doctor said that anything over 1 is a problem (although many people have higher levels it is not a good thing). If you have an autoimmune disease like hashis you'll score higher generally.
