It depends on what your FT4 and FT3 levels are. You can't take TSH in isolation (despite what doctors think).

Hi, my ft 4 is 20.2 (range 12-22)

He didn't do ft3 blood test

Your TSH and T4 are fine but you need T3 tested.

So TSH and FT4 look good. But as Bantam has mentioned, you need FT3 testing. Your symptoms suggest that you possibly don't convert T4 (a storage hormone) into the active hormone T3 which every cell in our bodies need. If your FT3 comes back low in range that would show poor conversion.

There is every chance that your GP won't or can't get FT3 tested, as even when requested it's the lab that makes the decision to do it - I'm not sure who gave labs that god-like status!

You can do a private test with Medichecks or Blue Horizon but you must have TSH, FT4 and FT3 all done at the same time, not FT3 in isolation. If your GP can't do the test, come back and we can suggest which private test to go for.

Seen gp today he's testing me for sleep apnia, I asked him to test adrenal glands and he said in 30years he's never done that....

So if you don't mind could you send me a link for private tests

TIA

I think testing FT3 would have been a better first step rather than sleep apnea.

If you want a thyroid panel and adrenal test then these are good options, all can be fingerprick tests or venous blood draw at extra cost if you think you can't manage the fingerprick test which requires 1 x microtainer for the basic thyroid panel, plus the one including antibodies, and 2 x microtainers for the test including vitamins and minerals, each containing 0.8ml of blood.

Basic thyroid panel:

Full thyroid panel including antibodies:

Full thyroid panel, antibodies plus vitamins and minerals:
