Armour headaches

I've been trying Armour with some mixed success. One of my complaints with it is that it seems to cause headaches and, er, well some "looseness." I'm wondering if others have had trouble this way with Armour.

Lucy100, overmedication can cause bowel looseness and headaches. Have you had thyroid levels checked since starting Armour?

Yes, I have. I'm still in the normal range. in fact my doctor agreed to increase my dose based on my blood test because I still complain of fatigue. My blood pressure and pulse are also low. 110/60, pulse 68.

Make sure you are hydrated and drink sufficient water throughout the day.

I have similar issues low blood pressure and pulse my dr has me on armour but Ive been getting headaches ever since. Currently on 90 mg...Did you pulse or blood pressure ever go up? Headaches Ive been reading can be caused by low blood pressure

Interesting. The headaches have subsided, but the fatigue is still an issue. My blood pressure was up for a while when I was on an anti-inflammatory, but went down again when I stopped taking it. Has your dose resolved your hypo symptoms? I can't tell if my doctor just won't move my dose along fast enough to keep up with my symptoms, or if Armour just isn't working out for me. Now that she's agreed to let me take Armour, she seems reluctant to experiment with other meds. Frustrating. I think Armour might not be a great fit for me because I've noticed my hands don't seem steady while I'm on it.

My dose hasn't helped the dr even increased me to 120mg but still have the headaches yet all my labs say my numbers are still hypo. Went I was on t4 only meds I never had these issues its so frustrating I guess all trial and error

How curious. Why did you change to Armour if T4 was working for you?

in reply toLucy1000

well Im not sure if it was per say working my regular dr put me on it when my tsh was 6.8 he never tested free t3 or t4 after a year of being on it and neve feeling a difference I asked if I could try armour. Since then I have been to another dr and now a endo because despite upping my meds my t3 and t4 stay the same but tsh only goes down. Its strange

But overall you felt better on T4? Because numbers are good to know and keep in range, but if you don't feel good, numbers are not that meaningful. And you said you didn't test for T3 and T4 while on T4 only, so it might have been the same situation with that medication, no?

I also have an upset stomach on Armour but all other symptoms seem to be going... Thinking of changing NDT brand to see if it helps x

Yes, that's what I was thinking also. I tried Thyroid-S from Thailand, but that made my symptoms even worse. But there are others I hear. Not so easy to get, but worth a try.
