Hi, I got diagnosed with subclinical hypothyroidism 4 months ago and am on 50g of levothroxine. My levels are back in normal range around 1.9 I think. I am still getting symptoms, is this normal? Will they ever go?

Levels fine still have symptoms
Hello kg,
You sound as if you are still undermedicated.
Post results complete its ranges (numbers in brackets) for members to comment.
Have you had Vit B12, Vit D, folate and ferritin tested. Deficiencies in any of these can compromise thyroid meds. Again post results.
Have you been tested for thyroid antibodies ?

Always ask the surgery for a copy of your results, we are entitled to them and make sure the ranges are stated.
When you go for your next blood tests make the earliest appointment and fast ( you can drink water) and leave about 24 hours between your last dose of levo and the test. If GP hasn't tested Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate ask for these as if deficient can cause problems too.
If you are having symptoms you need an increase in your dose although some doctors think as long as our TSH is in range that we don't need an increase. Tell him you've still got symptoms and you want an increase. Tell him that it's o.k. to have a TSH below 1. Don't believe him if he tells you that you'll get a heart attack or something like that - you wont.
