Sorry not able to help you with sources. Have you had your FT3 tested ? When I looked back at a previous thread of yours I could not see the FT3 result. Have you optimized all the important things like Ferritin - B12 - Iron - VitD - Folate. They need to be good in order for the T4 to work well.

I have read many posts here of late where people have gone onto T3 and not been happy. There are many parts to the Thyroid puzzle. Am not being negative - just cautious....

My free t3 is on my posts just looked back, its 4.2 (3.1-6.8) that was 4-5 months ago. I'm now on 100 mg Levi as 150mg Made me feel wired and sweaty. Tsh was going up at 3.8 not going down. Which was strange as ft was over range 23/24.

Sorry - obviously I did not go back far enough. I live in Crete and we are two hours ahead - so was writing just before bed !! Best to write up your case history in your Profile - then people only have one thing to read :-)

Just wondering when you had your last tests done - were they fasting ones ? - 24 hours after taking the Levo ?

Please please read Paul Robinsons book recovering with T3 book before you self medicate! His book is incredible & it's worked for me!!

What makes doctors such "experts" on the thyroid? Most of them only have an hour or two of lectures on the subject during their entire training. There are intelligent people out there who can read and learn and understand just as well as doctors, so that doesn't disqualify Paul Robinson from learning about and knowing about the thyroid, and he does make it clear that he is posting from his own experience.

A lot of people have done well by following his protocol.

His books are published on demand, so Amazon isn't a good source for the book (in terms of price), instead look at his website. I don't think Paul is so active on the internet as he used to be, so I don't know what he is up to these days.

If I could make money out of my illness I would do it. Thyroid problems make earning money very, very difficult, and we still need to live. I don't think there is any more "immorality" in making money out of an illness, as there is in making money out of being a good singer or a good plumber or any other skill or talent.

Obviously I would hope that someone making money out of an illness is actually doing some good, and I think Paul has helped quite a lot of people.

Disclaimer : I've never used Paul Robinson's protocol, or bought any of his books. I have read his blog though.

Paul Robinson saved my life! His knowledge about how the thyroid system works and some of its problems is second to none. His books were not written for profit, but to share his knowledge with fellow sufferers and he has helped many people by explaining his knowledge of T3 and how it works. His books should be compulsory reading for all trainee doctors.

With Paul's help I solved why i felt do dreadful, I was deep in the depths of myxoedema and had just been left to die by the NHS. Now I am able to play tennis 3 times a week, have a very busy social life, I have lost 3 stone in weight and now I know that my dementia was caused by NHS incorrect treatment of my thyroid condition. After I started T3 treatment my dementia actually improved for a while although the damage done is significant and my diagnosis still stands.
