Things are not good at home, constantly arguing with my wife. I so called don't do enough around the house. I do try and do what I can it's not like I don't do anything at all. Sometimes I think it would be better for everyone if I wasn't here. Maybe I should let her go and be happy. I'm not sure

What's the point?
That's sounds so pathetic
No, not pathetic at all. I'm sure a lot of us have felt like this at some stage. I certainly have.
You haven't been on medication very long and unfortunately it does take time to see improvements. Hang on in there, it will get better! Keep coming back here and post your blood test results. You'll get some excellent help and advice.
Yeah it did but at least you can stand back and see how it is. There's a really goid letter you can print out and give to family and friends, which explains how crap you feel with thyroid problems. I will find it and add a link in a few minutes......
Its rubbish if you can't do much around the house as well as work... Maybe if your wife reads the letter she will Just let the stardards slip a bit.... A clean tidy house is a sign of a wasted life!
It does get better..... Several of us have hit rock rottom and bounced back.... Apart from being on here and answering questions i no longer give my thyroid much thought... I no longer have to work around it.....

edited to include link....... Here it is.... thyroid.about.com/od/bookss...
Are you hypothyroid?
Although it is about a husband living with a hypothyroid wife, it still applies the other way around. Perhaps you could show this link to your wife :
It's a pity that at times you wish the boot was on the other foot, just so the person realises what it is like to have a life-threatening condition if untreated and quite unwell if not on an optimum of thyroid hormones. Their energy is vastly depleted and the person can suffer immense fatigue.
Humanbean's suggestion is good if your wife takes note of it.
Get a print-out of your next blood test results with the ranges and post on a new question for comments.
Get the earliest appointment, fast and leave about 24 hours between dose of levo and test and take levo afterwards.
Hi, it looks like you've only just started your meds, please give them a chance to start working.
I felt absolutely awful for the first couple of weeks on Levothyroxine and then little bit by bit I started to notice small improvements.
I feel that the improvements were further boosted by addressing vitamin deficiencies and low levels (if you haven't had them checked yet, if may be worth asking your GP to test for vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12).
I am so impatient and wanted to feel better (completely better) in an instance - I know now that it will be a slow road to feeling fab again. I have talked to friends who've felt better than they have in years after 6 months on LevoT, but we are all different and it takes different amounts of time to find the right level of meds.
I've found one way that helps me cope it to look for a small positive (or something silly) each day and focus on that and celebrate it. It hasn't made any of the pain go away but it does help to lift my mood for a few minutes each day.
Using this forum as a resource for information and shared experience has been great for me, I hope that it will be helpful for you too.
It takes several weeks for the medication to begin to work, I read six weeks from someone on here. Don't beat yourself up about this, give yourself time, and make sure your wife reads up on how debilitating an underactive thyroid can be. Ask her if she would expect you to understand if she was the one going through this? It does get better once you are optimally treated. Best wishes.
