Just a quickie...I have to up my dosage from 100 mcg to 125 but I remember reading on here a while ago that people were having problems with the 25 mcg tablets.
Is that still the case and if so, is it possible to split such a tiny pill with a pill cutter? Thanks

As levothyroxine is a storage hormone, it's not used immediately. This means that if you need to raise by 25 a day, you would probably do fine taking and extra 50 every other day. Experiments have been conducted and it was found that people who took all their levothyroxine in one go , once a week suffered no ill effects.
I think I would get confused galathea...the old grey matter isn't what it was! I think I might just stick with the 100s and split them, then it's easier all round and I won't have my GP thinking I'm a more of a hypochondriac crank than she does already!
