That was what I had today to check my cortisol reserves, plus more bloods (at least an armful) for things like renal and pitutiary function, hyperparathroid etc. Given that I have a horror of needles that's at least as bad as my arachnophobia it was pretty stressful, specially as we got stuck in traffic and were nearly late. i was told that I wont get a copy if the results they will be sent to the GP, but I'll ask to get a copy. we shall see what we shall see. feeling whacked out now, what with a bad night, early morning, pain and stress.

It is very unlikely that synacten test will be positive, meaning low adrenal output with the stress you have been though. You have to be addisonian or near addisonian for it to be low. You are better off with a normal (without stimulation) cortisol and DHEAs test pre-09.00 in the morning.

I already had one, which they said was ok. The reason the ordered this test is because I was so exhausted, and I had some other symptoms.

I was tested at 9 am, which was the earliest they do.

a) ask for a copy of the letter to be sent to YOU its illegal for doctors to disvuss you without your input! Secondly I hope you were tested early in the morning, there is little point otherwise as adrenals fluctuate during the day.
