Has anyone had any success with naturopathic medicine for hypothyroid?

Losing hair and my doctor will not treat me my thyroid levels are at the very bottom but within lab ranges! Desperate to find something that will stop my hair loss x

Abzeig, have you had your Vit D levels checked? I was amazed today to discover the role Vit D deficiency has in hair loss. Perhaps worth Googling Vit D deficiency to see if anything strikes a chord for you.

Also need folate and ferritin - both affect hair growth. Ferritin needs to be at least 70 and folate mid range. D3 should be around 100 and B12 over 500, preferably around 1000.

Is your b12 above 500??

Is your vitamin D around the TOP of the lab range??

Have you had your thyroid antibodies tested??

If your hair loss is caused by low T3, there is nothing you can do apart from optimising your T3. You can spend a fortune on pills and potions, but there is no substitute for T3.

Having said that, there are many things that can cause hair-loss. Have you had your iron tested, for example?

Hi! My results for vit d have come back at 65 and my ferritin it 47 my b12 2 years ago was 499. Do these sound ok?
