I had a total thyroidectomy on 17th july 15. I was put on 50 units of Levothyroxine after surgery.
I had a blood test 3 weeks ago then my levothyroxine was increased to 75 units 2 weeks ago. However Im beginning to feel absolutely crap and have put on 7 pounds since surgery.
I was told to leave it 6 weeks between blood tests, but I wonder if I should make it sooner on account of feeling bad. Can anyone advise me what I should do?

I'm sorry you are feeling bad. That's the problem sometimes when first on thyroid medication. It does take a while for our body to settle down. Give your new dose another 4 weeks and make a new appointment (you should have one every six weeks till you are on an optimum dose). Any weight gained should reduce when you get to an optimum dose. It shows that you are still hypo, I believe as your metabolism isn't back to normal yet.
Remember not to take levo on the day of your blood test, have the earliest possible appointment and fast. Allow about 24 hours between your last dose of levo and the test. Get a print-out of your blood test results for your own records, with the ranges.
At your next consultation ask if you could have some T3 added to your T4 (levo) as I think you will feel much better as you have had a TT.
