Was on synthroid 112mcg for 24 years then all the sudden got lowered to 25mcg because of a 37 lb weightloss,cant sleep, and bloodwork results. Been on this new dose since july 1st and no improvement,in fact been on sickleave for 2 weeks.I cant move. Any suggestions? Weight loss is painful i mean skin on bone.

Hi mimix2,

I think it is urgent you make an appointment with your doctor. You appear to me to be on too low a dose of levothyroxine and you've been on this dose since July. When was your last blood test - and get a print-out of your blood test results with the ranges.

You've had some other responses to your other post. I doubt anyone can feel good on 25mcg of levothyroxine.

Just one more thing, should i go to an endocronologist for this or stay with my gp. She hasnt even felt my thyroid. I just think its a little off that i was hypo and went on 112mcg of synthroid 24 years ago and then it goes hyper in a matter of months.

I think a referral to an Endo would be wise and hopefully he is a good one.
