Susiebow, what was the reason you used diuretics, was it to relieve swelling you may have?

Hi Vindaloo,I was put on linsoprisol for high BP, developed cough and then losartan had nausea then diuretic ?name began with B a long name for 3 days on fourth day I got out of bed ,started feeling sick and faint ,not dizzy.Could hardly walk from one room to another.Next day the same ,but vomited in morinng, fast pounding pulse.I went from one drug to another over the course of 2 months.I stopped taking them after 3 days and threw them away.Dr took bloods, all normal except for higher red cell count.Felt really bad from then on,that was a week ago.Went to dr on Monday ,he said my blood pressure still high and I had to take something and he put me on amiloride ,I took it one day and woke up in night feeling sick.Stopped it there and then, went to gp yesterday were he put me on non diurectic bp med.I just feel shaky and nauseated still.I am concentrating on losing wieght and ordered olive leaf extract to get bp down naturally so I can come off these awful meds.Could diuretics have caused me to be so ill and how long will it take to feel better? Thanks for your support.

Why not ask your doc for a different diuretic ?

I take Furosemide as I have CKD and I do not feel any side-effects from this.

It also helps to reduce blood pressure.

Hi There are lots of different diuretics, you probably need a different one as they should not have side affects.
