Anyone else on levothyroxine gaining weight i syayed stable up till three years ahgo now i carnt

When did you have your last thyroid blood tests including t3 and t4 ? along with all other bloods, and a check up with an Endocrinologist

You need to be assertive when requesting as they will try to tell you that there is nothing wrong with you.

They always told me my levels were noemal and i felt shit so changed hospital and he agrreed to try me with t3 c if helps was only put on them last thursday but my last blood test were ok bk october liothyronine make me feel a bit sick hopw that normal x

Hello nylarae,

Welcome to our forum.

Weight gain is a classic symptom of being under medicated. This could be due to either not having enough thyroid hormone replacement medication or having enough medication but it not working properly for you.

If you have any recent thyroid hormone test results, you can post them complete with ranges (numbers in brackets) for members to advise.

If you are undermedicated, it is not advisable NOT to diet as you will not be able to shift the weight until you reduce your TSH, with a med dose increase.

Never do that diet! It's awful.. You need calories, you probably didn't do your metabolism any good. When I was levothyroxine I continued to gain weight even though my levels was within the range, it's only since I been on t3 I've been able to lose it.

Thanks nikki you on both levothyroxine and t3 sum hopw for me if u our am on a hundred levo and 40 liothyronine hopin it will help x

Were you on 200 levo? I think that is the equivalent.

I'm on the same as u and I've put weight on . I've been eating loads of salads but still no loss of weight . I'm going to back to the docs ask if they can put me on different thyroxine tabs

I had no joy i was always on eltroxin brand of levothyroxine and my weight stsyed around ten stone they stopped eltroxin tried other brands there crap 15 stone now and depressed x
