Hi there and thank you all for the replies. Clutter thank you for your good wishes for my brother - but i am sad to say that he passed away yesterday - thank god i was beside him when he went, and my very best friend also died and it was his funeral today - may they both rest in peace. My doctor has given me vitamin D and also B12 injections that i have to keep in the fridge - but i have only had one injection which was two weeks ago - as when the nurse came to my house to give me more they did not bring any with them - so i rang my doctor and told her and she got the chemist to bring them to me - but the nurser and the doctor have not even rang me to find out if i have them or to arrange for them to be given. I am supposed to have them every other day - have only had one so far two weeks ago - i keep ringing the doctors but they do not answer - i am really fed up. Do i have pernicious anemia or not as my doctor told me i was not anemic and she also said i do not have thyroid problems - i feel like giving up. Wishing you all good health.
Feeling very ill and sad.: Hi there and thank you... - Thyroid UK
Feeling very ill and sad.
Oh xeena, what a horrible time you have had lately, you must be feeling so sad. Do you know what your test results are? I wonder why she is giving you B12 injections if she doesn't think you have a problem. Would she give you a trial of thyroxine to see if it helps? I send you (((big hugs ))) and hope things get better for you soon, it's so sad to lose your brother and your best friend at the same time.
Hi there fruitandnutcase - no she will not give me a trial - i have asked so many times - she has also given me vitamin D. I have had so many private blood tests done over the last four years that says i am hypothyroid - but they take no notice. - Thank you for your reply. God bless you.
xeena
My condolences on the loss of your brother and your friend. To have to cope with two bereavements at the same time when you are obviously quite unwell will be extremely difficult.
It's outrangeous that your GP can ask for B12 injections yet the nurse/doctor don't have any when they come and that you have had one injection only instead of one every other day.
Phone your surgery and say that you are now contacting your MP to complain about not getting the care and injections you need. Lack of B12 can cause us (I have P.A. too but it was discovered before I had symptoms) neurological symptoms and nerve damage so it is urgent that all of your injections are completed before you go on to a regime for regular injections.
Hi there, thank you for the reply. I could not take a chance on doing that - i would be to scared of taking the wrong amount also i have only one kidney which has been recently damaged by doctors doing cat scans without following the proper procedure -
and i lost the other one through doctors neglect so it makes me very apprehensive in what i do and as i already suffer with very bad acid reflux i am doubly scared of what i take - even when the doctors prescribe it as i do not trust them anymore. Keep well and god bless.
xeena, I've been reading posts for over two years now and been hypothyroid for over fifteen years. I think you should be more afraid staying with the health practitioners you have now. If you truly believe you are hypothyroid, than your body needs thyroid hormone which means your digestion needs it, your heart needs it, your brain needs it and your kidney needs it. What you seem to be saying is that I'll deprive myself of a needed hormone simply because you can't get a doctor to give it to you. We are at a fortunate time that we do not have to rely on the sort of doctor that would allow you to languish in illness and ignore your pleas. In the U.S. they do use oral B12 for P.A. but you really may do better with injections. Think about moving forward on your own.
Hi Heloise - thank you for your reply to my post - i really do apprciate it - but as i said before - i am scared of taking or doing the wrong thing. Bless you xx
Just to update you all about my injections - i had one on the 22nd of July that was given to me by the community matron who came to my house - i have not had any more since - i have repeatedly rung the matron and she tells me to ring my doctor - i ring my doctor but it takes me two and a half days for them to answer the phone - the phone is always busy - i ask to speak to my doctor and they say she is busy and will ring me back - i ask for an appointment and they tell me it will be six weeks - so i wait for the call back from my doctor - i have stayed in for four days waiting for her to call me back and all she did was leave me a voice message on my mobile saying that she will be in next wednesday and will ring me then - but she left the voicemail at 9-45 pm - i was in bed asleep - i am so fed up with all this as i am so ill - i am having difficulty breathing as i now have COPD as well as Ashtma and i cannot get deep breaths unless i yawn and i get very panicky. I do have the B12 (5) ampules in my fridge but no needles - they have been in my fridge since the 31st of July and i went to the pharmacy and asked if i could but some needles to self inject and the say i am not allowed to do that - i said loads of people do it and that i am supposed to be having the injections every other day - they told me no - only three a week is all i should have. So i will wait until wednesday and if i do not hear from my doctor i will go to A&E - i have already tried PALS but they say there is nothing they can do. Sorry another long post - i do wish you all good health and may god bless you all - thankyou.
