Should I go in for bloodwork before 6 weeks?

Would it be a waste of time to go in for my labs at 5 weeks? I read that 6 weeks is the right time. Some of my symptoms have improved, but I still struggle with insomnia and stomach problems. I have read that it takes a little longer after getting stable in your blood to actually reach tissue.

Mary, wait for 6 weeks, it really does need that long when fine tuning dose. Symptoms can lag behind good biochemistry by a couple of months too.

I'm not sure how long I can go on with no sleep and not eating well. I'm scared I'm going to drop and my daughter will find me this way. I tried Betain HCL with pepsin today to help me digest my food. However I only felt like eating one meal. This is frightening to me.

Mary, Insomnia and stomach issues will improve when you are optimally medicated but it will take time. I was prescribed a mild sleeping tablet, 7 per month, not every night, which helped me get some sleep. Betaine Pepsin should be taken with every meal, ideally more than one meal a day.

Thanks for replying. It's good to know that it can get better. I appreciate this forum so much.

You will get better, but the blood tests aren't always that helpful for everyone. If you had your test now, you'd have to wait another six weeks till the next whereas you only have to wait one :)
