Just a quick up date on my post yesterday. Well I pulled myself together a got myself to the doctors. Unfortunately I burst into tears as soon as I got into the room. However everything just came tumbling out. Made a complaint against the locum. Had a good moan about not having anything explained to me etc. I have to say my GP was brilliant. Went and got me a drink, came back and explained everything to me. Took the time to listen to my symptoms and said they are all down to uat and said things will get better but may take a while. Wants bloods done next week to see how things are going and will up my levothyroxine once he has results also testing for antibodies and vitamin D. Agreed to refer me to endocrinologist. So I have my faith in GP restored, at least for now.

Went to see GP
Cpflynn, Sounds like a good empathic doctor. He's right, it will take a while for everything to resolve, but you will feel improvement as the Levothyroxine works. I'm glad he's brought the blood test forward, the sooner you are optimally medicated the better.
Leave 24 hours between last dose and blood draw which should be a fasting test (water only) early in the morning when TSH is highest.
That's great news and hopefully your GP will see that your dose is optimized.
What a kind doctor. Sounds like you are heading in the right direction now and hopefully it won't be too long before you are in the right place.
I'm so pleased you went and that the Dr was so kind to you, I think this is good news for now, your Dr sounds very supportive.
so good to know that your g.p. explained to you correctly and was understanding of the issues , never forget though this problem will be a slow slog rather than a quick fix to get to your optimal dosage of meds for YOU [ always remember everyone is different in specific treatment regime -- what may work for 1 may not work for others ] it has taken my lady 3 yrs+ to get to the best regime .....but we are thereabouts now ............don't worry overmuch about the tearful episode , many will tell you it seems to be a trait of this disease in many -- so therefor could well be part of the symptoms ........your g.p. seems to be empathetic to this problem , as is ours , why not direct him/her to this site as I did ---- he has personally thanked me for doing this as he has learnt and updated his knowledge enormously from this site ......alan
