A stone and a half in the first four months on levo, another half a stone when I switched to NDT and a further seven pounds gradually over the next six months. I am now within seven pounds of my target weight.

What NDT are you on?

Ansteynomad, do you mind if I ask I you dieted to achieve this loss or did your weight drop with the optimal dose of medication?

When I became hypo, I gained 2 1/2 stone. I gradually lost it all over about a year, but my ankles and feet remain stubbornly swollen. I'm still not right in general because I haven't managed to get the meds exactly right, so I'm hoping that swelling will also disappear in time. I'm now on NDT and am having to add in a littleT3 as well.

All my labs are normal. Ive been taking my b12 and folate and other vitamins and minerals and I can't figure out why the fluid is not draining.

I don't know either I'm afraid. Are you on NDT?

in reply to Trixie64

Not any more because my thyroid levels are normal.

It's probably because although your TSH is in normal limits, your FT3 is low. Do you have FT3 results at all?

in reply to Jazzw

Yes. T3 is normal

At least its within the medical range. I have a check up in August so I will see what the numbers are then. Last checkup was in April

Yosey there isn't a normal range . It is a reference range and if your tsh is high in the range and your t4 is low then you need more meds. Leave 24 hours between your last dose and your blood test. xx
