Hello,From the 1st of January I weighed 9stone,13 and on this date today I now weight 8stone,8. I still eat normal food, the only think I have stopped eating is chocolate crisps and cut out fizzy drinks. I was wondering if that amount of weight is normal to loose in 12 days or not?

Initially it will be fluid as the foods and drinks you have been enjoying can create inflammation in some cases - not all. So fluid gathers when there is inflammation to dampen it down. Did you weigh at the same time - under the same conditions - ?

If you continue to lose weight then that is the time to be concerned - do you have anything that is concerning you ? Thyroid results ? - are they where they should be ?

Did you get a PA diagnosis ? - I have read your post of 9 months ago on the PAS Forum. Could your weightloss be linked to that ?

So you've lost 19lbs over 12 days? That is quite a lot, more than I'd expect from your start weight and your dietary changes. It would be worth discussing with your doctor.

I was concerned cause it’s quite a lot with only cutting out fizzy drinks and junk food such as crisps and chocolate and sweets

Have you worked out your BMI recently? I think 8st 9lbs is the lower end of healthy for my height (5ft 4in).

I’ll work it out now cause am 5ft 2in

I double checked, 7st 9 is the lower end for me, so you're still a healthy BMI. I still reckon a chat with your doctor is a good idea, due to the short timeframe you've lost the weight over, and be mindful of the point you'll become underweight.

Yeah I’ve just checked and mine is a healthy range but I’ll definitely see the doctor

BMI is only a guideline as it takes no account of body composition, but that is an awful lot to lose in a short time.

I feel great in myself but I’ll still go the doctors just to get checked and stuff
