I have been hypothyroid for ten years. Had yearly lab work done recently and my TSH was 9.1 and free T4 was 1.1. I was increased from 75 mcg to 100. The one symptom that is keeping me from living my life is lightheadedness. I can't leave the house. How long did it take for others to see symptom relief after a change in dosage?

Lightheadedness
How long these things take vary from person to person. It's difficult to say. But lightheadedness can be due to low vit B12. Have you had that tested? It needs to be over 500, but preferably nearer 1000.
I haven't had b12 tested. Is that the main reason for lightheadedness for hypothyroid patients? I am having digestion problems right now, but would a supplement be absorbed properly right now?
Not much research has ever been done into lightheadedness, I Don't think. If you go to the doctor with it, he will probably give you a pill for 'lightheadedness of unknow origine'! They Don't bother to find out why.
Low B12 is one of the reasons, could be others. Could just be low thyroid. But B12 should be tested, anyway, because it is usually low in hypos and could cause a lot of damage. It should be at least 500 but preferably 1000.
Sounds like you have low stomach acid, which most hypos have, so yes, absorbing would be difficult, but then, absorbing from food is even more difficult. For low stomach acid, you should try taking betain and pre/probiotics. I'm not an expert in those, so would be best to post another questionn for more information. But that would probably help you a lot.
I don't understand how you can have results like that while taking medication. Poor you, no wonder you feel poorly! I wonder if you're absorbing the Levo?
