I have lesions on my left foot. It starts out with blisters and then the blisters burst and the skin becomes very dry, flaky, itchy and sore. GP has tried various creams and has just sent photos to dermatology for opinion. I wondered if it was any thing to do with having under active thyroid especially as the doctors dont know what it is.

I will follow your post with interest, see mine that I have just posted kind of similar.

Have you been given a diagnosis for the rash? Was there a trigger for it?

I also have dry skin on my feet, esp. on ankles and were toes meet feet.

Do you suffer with fluid retention?

Where on your foot are they, Mandy? Could it be pompholyx / dyshidrotic eczema?

The skin on my feet, usually on my toes or just under them, bubbles (literally) then those blisters fill with fluid, burst and go flaky (lovely). I've got it on my fingers too - I posted a piccie the other day.

I have similar to this. I get a large blister if its on the sole of my foot, which then bursts, dries and flakes off. Also get them on/under/between my toes, the skin surrounding the blisters look sore too.

Started when I had heart problems, then everytime something stressful happened. Since being diagnosed with Graves I get it more often as my ability to cope with stress is lower.

Gp said it was exzema.

Funnily enough, after seeing the pics, I remember getting this when I was very young but only between my last two fingers on both hands and remember thinking it was due to sweating. When writing at school etc my skin would be very sore.

My skin was awful until I got my thyroid medication. I'd been to a dermatologist and was given Elocon cream plus special stuff to wash with instead of soap. Don't use any perfumed shower gels or soaps, and be careful to only use the plainest things for your laundry. I think it's because our skin gets really dry. MariLiz

Thanks Marliliz. I have been using elocon cream and emulsifying ointment to wash with but it hasnt really helped. I will buy some ecover or some thing for laundry. My skin is very dry and my hands are really rough.
