Pauwi, you are undermedicated with TSH 2.9 and the symptoms will be due to hypothyroidism. The goal of Levothyroxine is to restore the patient to euthyroid status which for most people means TSH just above or below 1.0. Read Dr. Toft's comments in Treatment Options thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/about_... Email louise.warvill@thyroiduk.org.uk if you want a copy of the Pulse article to show your GP when you ask for a dose increase.

Oh, yes! Your symptoms do sound like low b12. Been there, done that. Have you had it tested? If not, I think you should get it tested as soon as possible. It's very, very importatnt to have optimal B12.

I think we have to self-diagnose as well as sometimes self-medicate. It is a ridiculous situation for us who don't do well on levo or who are undermedicated/undiagnosed due to the reliance upon the TSH only.

I've had b12 tested and ferritin b12 was in the 700 s so I remember doctor said this was high end of normal, thing is the one time he increased my thyroxine from 100mg to 150 mg and I ended up hyper in a and e so he didn't want to raise the thyroxine for months because he says the tsh won't stabilise yet

You have a doctor that doses your meds according to TSH, which means your chances of feeling better are not too good. Find another doctor who goes by symptoms and does complete thyroid panels..free t4 free t3 and thyroid antibodies.

Hi Pauwi9,

unfortunately a functional neuro disorder tends to be code for Bonkers. I, like probably lots of ME sufferers will have been diagnosed with a functional disorder at some point. Well, it's easier than finding out what is really making someone ill.

I only started to improve when I started taking charge of my own health and looked into my thyroid and adrenal disorders. The people on this site know their stuff and can guide you in the right direction when you are ready.

Best wishes.

Mellymel.
