It's been a while since I posted on here. Not so because I have been well though. In a nut shell after 6 months of varying doses of armour I had to admit defeat and stop as it made me feel worse than ever. I did this gradually weaning down slowly whilst gradually adding back in T4. At some point I started to feel better so theres me thinking that maybe giving up gluten, sugar, following paleo', herbs, supplements and everything else that going back to monothearpy T4 would now be fine. Results 6 weeks ago on 50 T4 (4 days) and 75 (3 days) per week were TSH 3.25 (0.27-4.2) T4 13.4 (12-22) and T3 3.6 (3.1-6.8). My dose then increased to 75mcg daily and 4 weeks later results show TSH 4.32, T4 14.5 and T3 3.5. I have the full spectrum of hypo sypmtoms. GP suggested I alternate 75/100 mcg T4 and retest in 8 weeks as in the past taking 100mcg sent me hyper. I seem to have a very narrow therapeutic window. My question is do I follow this and spend the whole summer trying to feel better (same as last year) or add in 1/4 or 1/2 grain of Armour to 50mcg or 75mcg T?. Ideally I would start T3 with the T4 but on a 6 month wait list to see an endo as the last one told me I had CFS. I feel so muddled I cannot make sense of what to do. What do you think gang?

Frazzie, I'd go 75/100mcg Levothyroxine and if the retest shows you need more you won't necessarily go hyper again. If you feel yourself going hyper you can reduce dose.
Ask for ferritin to be checked when you have your next test. Low ferritin can make it difficult to tolerate dose increases.
If I were u I'd try t3 only, I have m.e and have tried everything else, nit saying t3 cures me of my m,e but it is the best option. Perhaps u just aren't converting and like me NDT makes u feel worse , sadly. Google Paul Robinson and get his book then join his FB page that way UK know what your doing. How about cortisol have u had the saliva stress test done?
