T3 dosing

Dr gave me 20mcg liothyronine

only one prescription as hes not supposed to give it

how do i dose on it?

i was thinking maybe 1/4 tablet a time

im worried because my heart pounds as it is

Mandy, 20mcg T3 is equivalent to 60mcg Levothyroxine. There is 9mcg T3 in NDT so you might want to try half a tablet for a couple of days and if the heart pounding isn't too bad increase to 20mcg split into 2 doses 6-12 hours apart.

Your heart rate may be pounding because your TSH is high and/or you may be intolerant to thyroxine in NDT and Levothyroxine. Hopefully you'll do better on T3 as the thyroxine clears your system.

ill try 1/2 a day, may even split and take at 2 doses so as not to cause too much pounding

hopefully endo will agree to prescribe if it helps as dr said he cant and hopes it gets away with giving it too me yesterday
