dxbgal, yes, increase by half a grain now and another half a grain two weeks later. FT3 is less than half way through range and would be better >3.6. Make sure you have a blood test six weeks after increasing to 2.5 grains to check your FT3 remains within range.
It may take a few weeks after levels are optimal for hair to stop shedding.
It's not unusual for tsh do drop way below range on ndt. Mines 0.02 and I'm not hyper even though my t3 showed slightly over. You probably know but don't take your pill on the day of your test.
It's usually when your ft3 goes over range that you become hyper. TSH is really a pituitary test. For such low iron you seem to be converting your T4 to T3 fairly well.
I don't know about growing hair, mine has never become thick again.
