Redted, low vitD is common in hypothyroid patients. Take vitD 4 hours away from Levothyroxine as it can affect uptake.

U&E is to do with kidney function. If you're undermedicated on Levothyroxine this can cause low kidney function.

Redted, make sure you get the vitD result from your GP and we'll advise how much to supplement.

Is it the serum vitaminD 16nmol/L

Change of reference as from 19/6/14

Less than 15nmol/L severe

15 to 30 deficient

30 to 50, May be inadequate in some people.

50nmol/L sufficient for almost the whole population.

Redted, use the orange Reply tab when you respond to a post and the member will be sent an email and on-site notification that you've replied.

Your vitD is deficient. VitD 75-200 is optimal and most people are comfortable with it around 100. Supplement 10,000iu D3 daily for 6-8 weeks to build levels and then reduce to 5,000iu daily. Retest in 6 months.

Dr rang has left me a prescription for vit d supplements, didn't say what strength.

Did not seem concerned about the creatinine result and could not understand why they had put abnormal, ferritin, folate B12 all ok.so will have to see if I improve on the Vit D supplements.
