Cortisol stress test and insomnia

Just in case there are any early birds here at the moment...

I'm supposed to be doing my cortisol saliva stress test today but woke up at four instead of seven (bloody insomnia). Should I still produce a sample half an hour after rising, or hope for better tomorrow and substitute a sample then in for this morning's first sample? I've taken the day off work to be close to the freezer so doing the whole thing tomorrow is not an option.

I would do it now.

Although you have been awake a while the natural circadian rhythm of cortisol doesn't suddenly shut off at 5.57am. It just decreases very gradually. You will be fine.

Make sure to devide the other three tests of into equal intervals apart.

Good luck,
