As ever the optimist, what happens if the tests don't show anything wrong? Can I still for example try and take something to balance hormones which is where at the moment, symptoms strongly suggest is where my issues are?
Any of you reading this may recall that my 'issues' began with when I was taken off of the combined pill in my mid 30's and I have been battling ever since.
Is there a 'natural' oestrogen/progesterone replacement that mimics/has similar hormones to the combined pill? Otherwise, I see no choice but to go back on it - I was quite thrown to be given this option by a doctor that I had not visited before in the surgery because of how bad my skin has got but the others would not even consider it (I didn't ask him - he just threw it out there).
Apparently I could use this for the next 10 years but then what? I don't want to be going through the same thing in my late 40s/early 50s again.
I was a bit alarmed that when I checked, the product he gave me - dianette, is not generally prescribed by doctors in my surgery and a female doctor gently advised me that due to my age etc, she would rather prescribe a lower dose pill - gedarel.
Realisitcally though, I don't want to be in a synthetic fog for another 10 years.
LOL - I haven't even had the results yet but just checking worst case scenario. 5 years is too long to go properly undiagnosed and this time having paid for the whole range of tests, I want to review all options.
You lovely people on here have been so helpful in the past - I hope you can give me some guidance again
