Is low immune system also a symptom? I teach and seem to catch everything. When I do catch bugs they really wipe me out!

Absolutely. And high cholesterol, and asthma, and pain, and brain fog, and irritability, and swelling, and puffy face, and in fact almost ANY part of your body and almost any function of your body can be suffering the effects of low thyroid levels, because every single cell in your body requires enough Triiodothyronine (T3) to function correctly.

Sometimes it is only when you are optimally treated that you realise just HOW many signs and symptoms you actually had.

I'd say as a general guide, assume a symptom is thyroid related unless you can prove otherwise!

Amen to that!

Yes. Your whole body is run down because it is crying out for thyroid hormones to be replaced.

If you have stomach issues, they are probably caused by low stomach acid and create absorption problems so you end up being nutrient deficient.

It is extremely important to get Vit B12, Vit D, Folate and Ferritin tested as thyroid hormones need optimum levels of these to work correctly in the body.

The doctor reckons my t3 and t 4 are ok. I will have to get a print out as I don't trust them anymore. I have had more information, advice and support on here than from anyone else in 7 years, thank you all so much. My husband says they wouldn't let a dog suffer like this!

if you have Hashimoto's then immune system issues is the reason, not a symptom. It started there..we all have messed up immune systems.
