Welcome to the forum, 1970Alli.
If you post your recent thyroid results with the lab ref ranges (the figures in brackets after your results) members will advise whether you are optimally medicated.
Undermedication can cause dizziness and faintness but it does sound as though paroxysmal positional vertigo is the likely reason for your symptoms.
I have similar in bed but my feeling of falling is accompanied with a burst of effervescent bubbles in my head.
There is a recent post entitled exploding head which is interesting.
I put it all down to a flood of cortisol but who knows?

Are you drinking water? Dehydrated? Just checking..
Hi 1970Alli, you have just described exactly how I felt with identical episodes some years ago. To this day I'm not sure what the episodes were but I now have developed a set of symptoms akin to Hashimotos. There were plenty of puzzled doctors and head-scratching at the time so I embarked on an attempted lifestyle change, which is difficult in our society where we are surrounded by so many poisonous daily foods.
All I can say is seek the help of the terrific experts on this site and follow their suggestions on which blood tests to have etc.
Hello may be I can help you I too had theses turns every night so bad I dreaded going to bed no sleep dreadful headaches, weakness hair thinning,I have since learned through my own research when my tests came back normal, that it may be lack of iodine .this was proved as I always felt better when I gave up tap water, the fluoride destroyed the iodine,so as I was so desperate to feel welli tried sea kelp and a one a day vitamin it didn't happen over night but after 4 weeks I do feel better the sea kelp made my hair feel better and I did feel well, so give up tap water get the sea kelp I take 3 in the morning 3 at night plus one a day vitamin have patience it does work ,do let me know
Kind regards
Pat
