After a 6 month long wait I've had another retest for my bloods. Just waiting for the results now. I was boarder line 6 months ago. Felt not too bad along the way, not as bad as I did get. Could feel myself slipping again so though now is the time! The nurse was lovely, especially as I ended up in tears on her! She gave me a hug and told me not to worry as being over emotional is also a sign of thyroid problems apparently. I explained about my mum having PSC, a rare liver disease and as it's more common in people who have an immediate family member with it, she told me to make a doctors appointment and tell them again even though she had no clue what it is! Most doctors don't have any idea either which is why it's been dismissed everytime I've mentioned it. So if my results come back boarder line again or negative I'm going to ask them to do my liver function blood test as I've never had it done. The earlier PSC is found then the easier it is to slow down it's progression.

ReBlood Test
Did you have a blood test as early as possible? I ask because the TSH is highest then and many doctors only diagnose due to the TSH result and ignore clinical symptoms (or maybe it's better to say they don't know symptoms). Did the GP also do a B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate tests too. Get a print-out with the ranges and post on a new question for comments.
No idea about the rest, but they are testing the TSH, T3 and T4. Just testin the TSH was the problem I had originally!
If you haven't had B12 etc. tested ask the GP (you don't need the earliest appointment for these to be checked). If he asks why, you can tell him that many with hypo can be deficient and you want to make sure you aren't as you want to have every chance to get better.
I now have the same problem this time with just the TSH being tested and not the T3 and T4. My blood test last week was a waste of time! I'm fuming!
At least next weeks test will be for the LFT. Hoping it'll be for the T3 and T4 too.
