vitamin D

how much vitamin d should I take with iron tablets? I have suffered with diarrhea for years, but at the moment I am on strong pain tablets, and together with taking iron I am now constipated! many thanks in advance! Bev.

Don't you mean vitamin C? If so, about 1 gram.

Oh dear, yes I meant vit C, I can't believe I put vit D, my brain is on go slow at the moment! I'm taking 500mg do you think I should double the dose? Thank you for replying! Bev.

If it doesn't give you the runs, yes, but 500mg is probably enough for the iron to be absorbed - might not be enough to stop the associated constipation.

Hi ... I was told by my gastroenterologist that strong painkillers stop your

bowel from moving and I know this is true ...

so maybe it would be better to take a natural laxative Dr. Vogel Linoforce

granules are wonderful for keeping your bowel regular ...

Hi madge1979, my husband takes tramadol all the time , he has the same problem, I will have to get some of those you recommended thank you!
