and for those who'll ask cos they haven't seen your other post, your thyroid test results from mid Jan are free T3 5.5. Free T4 19.4 TSH 0.58

Nothing too obvious there (above). You tested negative for glandular fever, though that's not always accurate. Doesn't appear to be a low B12 issue either, as your MCV is mid range. Pity they didn't test that properly though. You may be anaemic (iron deficient) but again, they haven't done the tests that would rule that out properly.

How are you feeling? You're on T3 only aren't you? And those thyroid tests were from when you were on 75mcg levothyroxine, not liothyronine?

Thank you, I did have other tests in Jan

Ferretin 63.5. ( 10-291).

B12. 708. (211-911)

So ferretin was a bit low in range and have been supplementing & eating more iron rich foods.

Yes, these results are on T4 75 MCG and so endo seemed reluctant to change anything.

I started T3 only after having a 7 day gap . unfortunately I don't think this is the answer for me either , - Ive worked up to 40 and am feeling more tired, stressed and anxious than ever.

Also tried Paul Robinson's circadium method to support adrenals in case that was the problem.

I'm now at the stage of thinking I should go back on that dose of T4 that produced apparently wonderful blood results or maybe a try 50 T4 and keep in 10 of T3 .

Running out of options though, - would eventually like to try NDT but all feels a bit risky when endo doesn't want to support me on it .

Exhausted just keep thinking about it!

Amanda, You don't appear to have a conversion issue as FT3 5.5 was good on 75mcg T4. I think you've overmedicated on T3 and this can make you feel more stressed, anxious and tired. 40mcg T3 is equivalent to 120mcg T4 and your FT3 is probably too high now. Have a FT3 test to check and if it is high consider reducing T3 to 25mcg or try 50mcg T4 + T3.

Thanks clutter , no , I obviously convert fine and I'm finding the T3 alone quite a harsh option . Yesterday I didn't take any at all and feel much calmer today . I think I'll try going back on small T4 Tom & add back in some T3 as I think a more stable baseline from T4 is prob better for me . If I go back to 50 T4 how much T3 you think I might need 5 or 10 ish ?

Thanks

A x

Amanda, 50+10 is equivalent to 80mcg T4, nearer the 75mcg you were previously on.
