Water: So the Dr on tv says .. Fluoride doesn't... - Thyroid UK
Water
Yeah, pfffffft! As my old dad would have said 'who's he trying to kid?' 😉
Fluoride used to be prescribed to treat HYPERthyroidism, so it should be obvious that adding fluoride to water when the person is euthyroid, would then make the person Hypothyroid!

Shadow health secretary is pushing for more fluoridation if his party is elected
I've lived in the West Midlands all my life. We have fluoride in our water. My mum and gran were hypo, I'm hypo, my daughter is hypo, both my neighbours are hypo too. To top it all my partner is being investigated. He's put on a lot of weight and doesn't have anything like a jaw line, just lots of swollen flesh around his neck. I insisted he took his temperature and it was 35.9. It is really like an epidemic around here.
Hi whereabouts in the WM are you? I'm in Coventry and my research into fluoride levels showed that they are 0.75, 2 1/2 times more than the recommendation given by scientists at the University of Kent. In fact, on Severn Trent's website, the UK 'norm' is 1.5. Can't remember the unit name/symbol, but you know what I mean!
I'm not surprised by your reply, sadly. I've always had Severn Trent water. Lived in Wolverhampton, Birmingham and I'm now in Shropshire.
There's also another woman in my village who has lost all her hair, not sure why yet. Hypo?
We have really bad doctors here too.
Another problem here in Shropshire is we're in a radon hot spot. My health definitely has worsened since we came here 2 years ago. People don't realise Shropshire is as bad as Cornwall for Radon.
The water in the village comes from a spring on one of the hills. The water quality is terrible. We're near the Welsh border but the water is very very hard and tastes disgusting. Some time ago STW added something to improve the quality, it hasn't, but I would like to find out what was put in. Of course radon gets into water too
