I've been on thyroxine, for 15 yrs. I've never been to the hospital to see a consultant, it's always been managed by my GP.
Is this right?
Thank you for any info.

Joanneberry, hypothyroidism is usually managed by GPs. Referral to endos is usually because there is a complication the GP isn't confident of dealing with or the patient doesn't feel the GP's treatment is helping and asks for a referral.
Clutter, thank you for your response. I was wondering as there seems to be a lot of people, who have a consultant as well as their GP. Even people I know, and know not to have any complications.
I'm happy to keep with how things are.
I still gain weight extremely quickly, if I have a day off rabbit food lol. I still lack my old get up and go ( it's got up and gone). I still have bouts of depression.
But now my hair has started to thin, and I've gained hair in places I didn't think women could. ?.
Is this all related to hypothyroid, or is it just age? I'm only 37.
