Has anyone used fluconazole to get rid of candida? If so, did it work well, and are there any problems to be aware of when using it? Thanks

How to get rid of candida
Anything containing sugar will feed candida.
Most of the 'supposedly' healthy yogurts contain vast amounts of sugar undoing all of their healthy claims.
Sugar is also in most processed foods. So thats just about all the well known 'healthy' cereals, most canned foods, virtually anything processed containing wheat, then there's the sugar contained in fruit juices and other drinks.
Its a project requiring dilligence.
But its said that cancer cannot thrive without candida. So thats something to concentrate the mind.
Losing the sweet tooth can help in many ways
I have used Fluconazole for thrush symptoms , which also seem to make make my bladder inflamed.
It seems to be about twice a year, and it has always helped to reduce the inflammation. Dr Peatfield has a good chapter on Candida in 'Your Thyroid and How to Keep it Healthy. And, of course , what you eat needs to be as little of what candida likes as possible.
I agree it never fails with me. I had two lots last year for a water infection (the first in about 30 years), as I don't like to take them. Yes candida came as of course we all know that as well as killing off the bad bateria it kills off the good as well.
Hello,
I got rid of candida by following SCD diet (breakingtheviciouscycle.inf... strictly for 3 months and taking nystatin orally at the same time for over a month. It is very difficult to get rid of candida with diet only.
I managed it, and the diet also sorted out ulcerative colitis and candida at the same time, however I did also take some licorice supplements.
Thanks, that's really helpful, and good to know what's worked. Did you get that on prescription or do you have to buy it somewhere?
The best thing you can do to get rid of candida is to cut out sugar so candida has nothing to feed on. I cut out sugar and carbs (which convert to sugar) and it sorted loads of problems out for me. You can re-introduce at a later stage otherwise you can lose too much weight, but I find I always have to be aware of sugar and foods which convert easily and quickly to suar.
Thanks, will look it up
Thanks very much for all the replies, much appreciated
I managed to get my candida level down from 19 to 0 with horipeto and aniseed and a very good probiotic , I found it very hard to remove sugar from my diet so with normal eating habits and the above supplements it worked , it probably took 6/8 months . Shelly
Hi can you tell what and were I can get a test for candida?
I went to see a kinesiologist who did allergy testing and also was able to test to find out the candida levels . If you know of someone who could recomend someone or Google in your local area and see if they are reputable. Good luck
My husband did the Dr Peatfield spit test, which indicated candida. He then did a Genova candida test, which showed that his level of candida was very high. He tried the Dr Peatfield advice (3 weeks of 1 fluconazole tablet a week), but the spit test was still showing that he had candida.
We did some digging around and found this, on the respected Dr Myhill's site:
My husband ordered the lufenuron and followed the protocol (relatively simple), whilst also doing another 3-week fluconazole course (1 a week). After this, the spit test showed that he was candida free .
He didn't make any changes to his diet during this time.
