Flu like body ache

Does anybody (with hypothyroidism / hashimoto's disease) have flu like body aches time to time? Is that normal? The days that I have it I also feel extremely tired..

Yes, I am hypothyroidism and I also get this!

I would check and see if its an allergy or intolerance first, I am really intolerant to maize, so nothing with cornflour and no tablets with maize starch as the filler!!

but if it's an allergy wouldn't I also have some other (sore tummy etc) symptoms?

Goitrogens! Maize is a goitrogen, and goitrogens make youy feel like this if you are sensitive to them. I've been saying this for such a long time, now you've proved my point! lol

It depends, allergies and intolerances can show up in different ways if you are hypothyroid. I have flu like symptoms if I eat anything with maize or cornflour in, I saw an immunologist and was told to take a tiny amount of cornflour every day to build up a resistance, I politely declined saying I could not afford to lose days as I would not be able to get out of bed the following day!! I had to remove everything from my diet to find out what I was allergic to and soon discovered that a common ingredient in gravy and custard was cornflour, that was more than 30 years ago and I have avoided it since!
