For starters always shop around the perimeter of a supermarket where all the fresh foods are, avoid the middle aisles. Cook from fresh, avoid like the plague all processed foods, sugar in any form, buy as much organic as you can afford. Chop chop chop all those lovely veggies/salads/fruits and meat if you are not vegetarian. Make sure you have good protein/good fat/good carbs at each main meal and snack to keep your blood sugar levels even. What you save on unhealthy products goes towards the organics. There are many different diets out there but following the above is a very good start.
