Problems getting Mexican T3

Hi everyone, my usual online pharmacy hasn't supplied my order, it has always been very reliable. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Please PM me if you know of another reliable Mexican pharmacy who takes credit cards. I only have 30 days treatment left and I'm starting to panic!

Thank you. Xx

Hi

I'm new on this forum, so hello to you and everyone else here.

Do you mean <Admin deleted>? If so, I'm about to panic too! Occasionally I see Dr Peatfield for a check-up, and last time he mentioned that he's now adding T3 to his NDT and gets it from this pharmacy.

I'm on mono-T3 replacement. I used to get all my thyroid meds from <Admin deleted> which is very good, but expensive. I started off about 8 years ago with branded Cytomel (Pfizer) from <Admin deleted>, but the cost rose steeply as the pound declined against the dollar after the crash, so I switched to a generic. This turned out to be rather variable in potency. I've been getting Cynomel (Grossman) from Mexico at a very good price. Is this what you've been taking?

Hi Hillwoman, I'll send you a private message as we are not allowed to say the names of online pharmacies :-)

Hi Helen

I ordered from the same pharmacy on 4 Nov. It arrived today the 2 Dec. I had to use my daughters Visa cc. I couldn't use my Master cc. I haven't ordered from them before so I don't know if their cc system has changed?

Betty xx

Hi Betty, if we're talking about the same pharmacy, I have no idea what is going on. We ordered 2nd Nov. My previous order arrived in ,18 days. We've emailed twice, usually they are really good at responding, but not at the moment. What is really strange is they never took the payment. Did you notice they are not now accepting credit cards?

I'll PM you. Xx

Apologies everyone, I hadn't cottoned on to the rule about not referencing pharmacies in a forum post.

If it the pharmacy I think it is, I emailed them practically every other day until I got a dispatched notification. I too had delays and also payment issues. T3 came eventually approx. 2-3 wks longer than normal. It seems a lot of posts on their fb page are neg.

I'll PM you.

Hi Shaybenbelly, yes you guessed right a lot of us are paying for our own meds. We've tried Levothyroxine, but it hasn't worked for us. :-(

in reply to shaybenholly

Glad you've found this site shaybenholly. Yes it's all down to money. There have been a lot of cases of endocrinologists have prescribed T3 but GP's have refused to supply it on the grounds of cost.

Someone wrote to the Health Minister Jeremy Hunt and according to him we should be getting it.

Helcaster, most of the online pharmacies are no longer able to accept credit cards and accept payment via bank transfer. I believe the pharmacy you use also accepts PayPal.

in reply to Clutter

I've gone a good 2 years using a credit card on the d** n**o site. Just a couple of months ago it was fine. I rely on my partner to order for me and he is very resistant to do a bank transfer, and he hasn't used a PayPal account in a long time and has forgotten the password or something. I'm not familiar with this. There was such bad publicity recently re paypal being hacked, the whole thing is scary.

One Mexican site takes credit cards and we've ordered, more expensive of course. This site isn't know to us though, so a bit worrying. I know there can be bad reviews, but our original supplier never failed us.

Do you know why we can't correct our typos now on the posts and messages Clutter?

Helcaster, click on the v down arrow to the right of Recommend underneath your post and select edit. Make your changes and click on the orange Edit response button to submit.

This is the response I had from customer services at an online pharmacy in April re my enquiry about supplying UK customers and payment methods:

"In the last week of April 2014 some significant changes took place for us an Online Pharmacy.

The new prescription policy is for our US customers ONLY. For customers outside the US we will continue to accept and process your order as we have done in the past, ie; without a prescription.

If you are prompted for a prescription, please tick the box "prescription will be emailed" - this will allow the order to be completed. We will then process your order without receiving a prescription, as we can see you are in the UK.

This change in our policy for new US customers has resulted from the major credit card schemes such Visa, MasterCard and Amex, who will not tolerate their names being brought into 'disrepute' - as supplying meds without a valid prescription is unacceptable to them.

Visa and Mastercard are targeting Online Pharmacies due to lobbying from Drug Companies and BigPharma in the US. This is out of our control and failing to supply a valid prescription could result in our business being denied access to their payment facilities.

Thanks Clutter, I get it now! X

Helcaster, btw if your partner can remember his PayPal log in and his email details are up to date, there is a link for people who have forgotten their passwords and want to reset them.

in reply to Clutter

He'll have to, I just sent him that very message! He's not the most cooperative person though, so everything is a battle!

I can't believe how this has affected me, isn't it awful the slightest bit of extra stress can make you feel so rotten!!

You've been incredibly helpful and supportive, thanks so much Jackie! Xx

You can usually use PayPal without a PayPal account (or without logging in) if doing a credit/debit card payment. There's usually a link somewhere on the payment login page that gives the option to pay without registering. I've done it a few times for my mum when purchasing stuff.

in reply to Mabes

Hi Mabes, thanks so much for that info, I had no idea. My partner has set up a PayPal account and ordered from another site now, it was more expensive than my previous Mexican supplier. I've emailed your reply, i'm just not familiar with PayPal.

Thanks!
