I have an appointment on Monday with the consultant where I will be asking for T3. I'm expecting him to say no so want to know how I can go about getting from abroad. Is there anyone who currently buys it?
Advice on where to source T3 without prescription via private messages please in line with posting guideline #22, thank you.
Bagpuss, Thyroidless patients don't always do well on T4 only as 25%-45% of T3 is converted in the thyroid gland. If your TSH is low/suppressed, your FT4 high and you FT3 low it shows you aren't converting well and will benefit from the addition of T3 to a slightly reduced dose of T4.
If you have a prescription you just collect it from the chemists. Are you talking about a private prescription? If so you will pay a fortune at the chemists. What are your current thyroid test levels?
Bagpuss, If your consultant won't agree to T3 ask for an increase in Levothyroxine to bring down your TSH nearer to 1.0 or just under, which will improve your FT4 and FT3.

When I had a higher dose of levo I felt even worse! I felt I was going crazy and cried all the time!! That isn't an option again. They have tried it several times!! Thank you tho!
So.... Is that an rt3 free t3 ratio of less than 20? Do you have an rt3 problem? You need the units and then you divide the free t3 by the rt3. Ad you are ideally looking for a result of more than 20. Hmmm. Might be worth you looking up how it works.... It may be that you need t3 only for a while.....
I think you needed to dig around and find out about high reverse t3... There is information in the files... this may account for the reason you felt worse on more t4. However, the doctors don't generally 'believe'. In it.
