I want to say thank you to all the people on here who have helped me on my journey. There are times when I am confused or discouraged and you are there giving me great information so that I can go back and battle with the doctors. Thank you for helping me not give up on myself. I recently had a setback when my medication was changed you all were right there with questions and answers that gave me the courage to go back to my doctor and request a change in treatment.
Almost a year ago, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's and Pernicious Anemia. I was almost completely non-functional. I was ending up in the hospital at least once or twice a week and when I wasn't there I was on heavy pain medication for muscle spasms. I had cut back to part-time work and was ready to give up on a job I loved and just sit around the house being sick. Today I am still working toward optimal, but am functional. I have not had to take pain medication in weeks and then it is only on rare occasions. I have not had to go to the hospital in months. I feel like I am finally getting my life back.
Thanks again for all your time and answers!!

That's great news. I think it comes as a bit surprise when first diagnosed and medicated that we feel worse, sometimes more than before the diagnosis.
When you begin to feel well, or feel recovered, it's great but you know hundreds are still suffering, sometimes unnecessarily so due to guidelines alone. Imagine if we had no access to the internet like many people. It doesn't bear thinking about really.
I dont come on here often, but read the posts every day, and it has helped me find a way forward to a HUGE extent. I would have been stuck on T4 with the GPs diagnosis of depression if I had not increased my knowledge from all the posts here. This forum is invaluable, it has changed my life, and I am sure has changed others too. A big THANK YOU to the forum and all its members.
